A Kentucky State University administrator is a featured author of the National Urban League’s 2018 State of Black America (SOBA).

Dr. Kristen E. Broady, vice provost for graduate studies and academic specialization, wrote an essay entitled “Race, Automation, and the Future of Work in America” for the report.

According to the National Urban League, every State of Black America publication has featured penetrating commentary and insightful analysis from leading figures and thought leaders across the spectrum.

The theme of this year’s publication is Save Our Cities: Powering the Digital Revolution.

The State of Black America findings were released during the State of Black America Summit and Legislative Policy Conference in Washington, D.C. in early May.

Broady attended the SOBA Town Hall with TV One, which took place at the Theater at Howard University.

Other prominent authors included in the publication include Congresswoman Robin Kelly, Congressman Cedric L. Richmond, Cynthia Brown (chief diversity and inclusion officer at Bank of America), Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke, Commission Mignon Clyburn (Federal Communications Commission) and Derrick Johnson (president and CEO of the NAACP), as well as many high-ranking officials of Urban League branches around the country.
