FRANKFORT – Kentucky State University freshmen, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate in service activities in the Frankfort community from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Saturday, August 27.

Volunteers will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the lobby of Bradford Hall to choose one of six service sites. Students may choose from various service activities. The sites and activities include painting playground equipment at one of two locations for the Housing Authority of Frankfort; staining the deck, rails, and porch as well as power washing two neighborhood Habitat for Humanity homes; cleaning windows, landscaping, and power washing properties at the Franklin County Women’s Shelter, and painting more than 40 acrylic scenes on canvas to decorate selected campus venues.

Painting supplies, stain, and landscaping materials for several of the service projects are sponsored by the Housing Authority of Frankfort, Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County, and the Facilities Department at Kentucky State University.
