FRANKFORT, Ky. – Ingram Quick has been appointed as Kentucky State University’s internal auditor. He will join President Raymond M. Burse’s transformation team on August 24.

“Mr. Quick will be an asset to our institution,” Burse says. “He has played an integral role in Louisville government, and I’m confident that he will bring that same level of expertise and excellence to our campus.”

The Tennessee State University grad is a certified internal auditor and fraud investigator who has worked for the City of Louisville for more than a decade. He was the first African-American to serve in the role.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer named Quick as internal audit director in 2011.  Quick helped to develop a quality assurance and improvement program to evaluate the department’s conformance to professional standards. He also provided testimony in court proceedings to support prosecution which resulted from his investigations.

Other roles Quick has held in Louisville Metro Government include internal audit manager, internal audit coordinator, senior internal auditor, grants monitor and accountant. He is eager to bring his extensive experience from city government to the KSU campus community.

“I am excited and appreciative of the opportunity to serve as the Internal Auditor for Kentucky State University. Having attended an HBCU, I understand their rich traditions and look forward to working with President Burse, staff and faculty in adding to the legacy of KSU,” he says. “My role will be to evaluate, and through recommendations, further improve the control framework of the University.”

His wide range of skills include risk management, corporate governance, continuous learning, team leadership and strategic planning.

Quick is a member of the Internal Auditors, the Association of Local Government Auditors and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
