Kentucky State University has been named “A Best in the Southeast” college by The Princeton Review on its website feature “2014 Best Colleges: Region By Region,” which posted Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at princetonreview.com.
The colleges and universities selected on the site as the best institutions in various regions are chosen primarily because they have excellent academic programs.

According to the site, students surveyed about KSU praised the institution for its variety of courses and affordable tuition. The nursing, music and honors programs were also praised as well as the number of classes available in food and agricultural sciences. The students surveyed recognized the Thorobred Learning Center, which assists non-traditional students who are beginning or continuing their education.

Kentucky State University was one of 138 institutions chosen for the “Best in the Southeast” designation granted to schools in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky.
