Dual Credit Tuition and Fees

The tuition rate for dual credit courses is established through the Kentucky legislature. For the 2023-2024 academic year, dual credit tuition is capped at $93 per credit hour. The cost of dual credit courses at Kentucky State University is $80 per credit hour. You are responsible for classroom costs that are not covered by tuition or by your high school or school district, such as textbooks and online material.

In an effort to make sure that your bill accounts for scholarship funding, we wait to send dual credit bills until November (for the fall semester) and April (for the spring semester). However, if we have not received information about your scholarship by the established deadlines, a bill will be generated.

KHEAA Scholarships

The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) awards two different scholarships for dual credit students.

  • Work Ready Scholarship
    • Pays for two technical courses each year for a total of 8 scholarships.
    • Contact the Dual Credit Office for questions regarding what qualifies as a Work Ready Eligible Course.
  • Dual Credit Scholarship
    • Pays for two general education courses during a student's junior and senior year for a total of 4 scholarships.
    • Available to public and private high school students and home school students.

Payment must be made at the end of each semester in order for the student to enroll in additional coursework the next semester.

Kentucky State University will also place a financial hold on student transcripts until balances are paid off. If you experience a hold, please contact the dual credit office for assistance.
