The Center for Economic Education and Financial Literacy
Housed at Kentucky State University, the Center for Economic Education and Financial Literacy is a hub for scholarship, outreach, and policy leadership aimed at advancing economic education and financial literacy across the Commonwealth. The Center engages in applied research and academic inquiry related to economic development, financial capability, and education policy. It supports K-12 financial literacy through dual credit instruction, professional development for educators, and community programming—including targeted initiatives for underserved populations. In collaboration with public- and private-sector partners, the Center fosters entrepreneurship education and contributes to the development and implementation of state-level education policy. It also supports KSU’s compliance with SACSCOC accreditation standards regarding student financial guidance. Through academic publications, conference presentations, and thought leadership—including regular op-eds in regional media outlets—the Center plays a visible role in shaping public understanding and legislative approaches to economic and financial education in Kentucky and beyond.
