Keep your calendar marked: December 2nd is Giving Tuesday! And this year, we have extraordinary news to share:

Longtime supporters of Kentucky State University have stepped forward with a remarkable $50,000 combined matching gift for Giving Tuesday! That means every dollar you give will be doubled, turning your impact into something twice as powerful for our community.

This is your chance to have 2x the impact. Would you join us and give $50, $100, or $250 to advance the students of Kentucky State and our groundbreaking research?

This match is only available until midnight on Giving Tuesday – and we don’t want to leave a single dollar on the table!

Right now, as you read this:

  • Our students are returning to campus to finish this Fall 2025 Semester and are receiving the highest quality education from our dedicated faculty;
  • Our researchers are discovering cutting-edge practices that will strengthen farms and improve food systems;
  • Our students and community members are receiving world-class support thanks to the generosity of donors like you.

You make all of this possible.

For 139 years, we have relied on the support of generous alumni and community members to fulfill our mission. Because of that support, we have consistently impacted thousands of lives each year.

Thanks to these matches, your donation will double and your impact to students will go further!

Meet Mariano Rivas — A rising leader on and off the field at Kentucky State University!

A proud business administration major from Louisville, Kentucky, Mariano is part of the Class of 2028 and is already leaving his mark On the Hill. He first learned about Kentucky State from a family friend who had been both his coach and a Thorobreds baseball player. After hearing about the deep sense of brotherhood and opportunity at Kentucky State, Mariano knew he had found his “home away from home.”

Since stepping onto campus, Mariano has embraced every part of the Kentucky State experience. He’s an outfielder for the Thorobreds baseball team, where he is known for his work ethic, discipline, and team-first mentality. Off the field, he is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., where he continues to grow as a mentor, campus leader, and servant scholar.

In the classroom, Mariano is laser-focused on his future. He dreams of a career in operations management and is determined to work his way to the executive level in the warehouse industry. With every course, practice, meeting, and service opportunity, he’s building the leadership skills that will carry him far beyond graduation.

What motivates Mariano most is the support he feels every day from professors who invest in his success, from teammates who push him to excel, and from alumni and friends who make scholarships and resources possible. “Kentucky State has given me a foundation and a community,” he says. “It’s where I’m becoming the person I want to be.”

Your Giving Tuesday gift ensures students like Mariano can continue to thrive in the classroom, on the field, and in their communities. Thank you for helping Kentucky State transform lives and open doors for the next generation of Thorobreds.
