Kentucky State University proudly invites students, alumni, friends, and the Frankfort community to celebrate 139 years of legacy, tradition, and pride during Homecoming 2025.
Festivities will kick off Sunday, October 5 and continue through Sunday, October 12 with a dynamic lineup of events designed to honor KSU’s past, celebrate its present, and inspire its future. From spirited student gatherings to alumni reunions and community traditions, Homecoming Week offers something for everyone.
“Homecoming is so much more than a game—it’s a time to reconnect, recommit, and rejoice in the rich history of Kentucky State,” said Dr. Koffi C. Akakpo, KSU President. “It reflects our spirit of academic excellence, collaboration, and community pride.”
The annual Homecoming Parade will take place on Saturday, October 11, beginning at 10 a.m. on the grounds of the Kentucky Capitol and concluding at the 2nd street - VFW Post 4075. To ensure guest safety and smooth travel through downtown Frankfort, minor route adjustments have been made (map attached). The parade is expected to conclude by noon.
The weekend’s signature events include the Homecoming Football Game and a halftime performance from the Mighty Marching Thorobreds. On Saturday, October 11, the Kentucky State Thorobreds will face the Edward Waters Tigers at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET, with tickets available here .
