Join KSU for a free FAFSA Clinic BBQ Party!
KSU’s free FAFSA Clinic to include FAFSA application assistance, music, food, giveaways, and more!
Join Kentucky State University for a free FAFSA Clinic BBQ Party happening on Friday, September 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carl M. Hill Student Center Courtyard. Students will have the opportunity to receive expert, one-on-one assistance with their FAFSA applications while also enjoying free food, giveaways, music, and more!
“We are thrilled to have the chance to directly impact our students’ access to education by offering them the tools and guidance needed to secure financial aid. This initiative is not just about filling out forms; it’s about breaking down barriers and empowering students to take control of their educational future,” said Dr. Paloma Pinillos, Latinx Services Coordinator at KSU. “The FAFSA Clinic will give students from all backgrounds- particularly those from underrepresented communities- the opportunity to secure the resources they need to succeed.”
This free FAFSA Clinic was made possible through a $5,000 grant award provided by UnidosUS to host an on-campus clinic aimed at helping students complete their FAFSA applications. The Latinx Services Program at KSU has been actively collaborating with UnidosUS to strengthen support for the Latino Hispanic communities within the University and across Kentucky. As part of this partnership, UnidosUS extended a special invitation for KSU to apply for the FAFSA Clinic grant- an exclusive, invitation-only opportunity aimed at providing crucial resources for students.
“Applying for FAFSA can be a daunting and overwhelming task for students, especially those who are first-time college students. This FAFSA Clinic is a great way to help combat student anxiety by making the process fun and encouraging community bonding,” said KSU President Dr. Koffi C. Akakpo. “Our collaboration with UnidosUS to host this free FAFSA Clinic reflects KSU’s first strategic priority: Affordable Access. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to expand access to resources and encourage our students in fun and creative ways.”
There is no RSVP or sign-up required for this event. The entire KSU community is invited to join this exciting event. Whether you’re a student in need of financial aid assistance or simply looking for an afternoon of great food, music, and community: All are welcome!
