Circle K. International is a community service organization with a focus on the children in the community. Kentucky State University (KSU) holds one of the largest and currently the only HBCU Circle K. International clubs in the Kentucky-Tennessee District. KSU scholar, Jiya Alcorn, has been moving to continue the growth of her home club and the district.

Alcorn is currently a senior from Lexington, KY. Majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting; pursuing a certificate in Agriculture Business Management; Alcorn is involved in multiple extracurricular activities on and off campus alongside Circle K. International; Whitney Young Honors Collegium, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society, National Society of Leadership and Success, Collegiate 100, Kentucky State University Cheerleading Team, National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) holding multiple leadership positions. Throughout her years attending KSU, Alcorn’s passion for giving back continued to flourish and grow with Circle K. International.

President of KYSU, Dr. Koffi C. Akakpo stated “Jiya's accomplishments reflect her commitment to excellence and her ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We are proud to have her, she exemplifies the values we uphold at KSU.”

Alcorn has been a part of Circle K. International since August 2021 and has served in the following roles; Event Planner: 2021-2022, Vice President/Secretary: 2022-2023, President and K-T Lieutenant Governor: 2023-2024, and Kentucky-Tennessee (K-T) District Governor: 2024-2025.  Alcorn has a passion for serving others and making a positive impact; while challenging herself to take creative angles to connect and build new relationships with others. The theme for the district this year is Value and Vision. Alcorn’s previous and current leadership roles have prepared her for her current role as District Governor creating confidence in her capabilities to complete shared goals.

As Alcorn assumes the role of 2024-2025 K-T District Governor, she continues to elevate KSU's legacy, inspiring us all to reach greater heights and make a lasting impact in our communities.
