Kentucky State professor producer on Grammy nominated album, “The Lost Birds”

Associate professor of economics and finance at Kentucky State University Dr. Swagata “Ban” Banerjee is an executive producer on artist Christopher Tin’s concept album “The Lost Birds: An Extinction Elegy.” The album is a musical memorial for extinct bird species due to human activity that celebrates their beauty and mourns their absence.

“The Lost Birds” was entered in multiple categories for the 65th Grammy® Awards including Best Classical Compendium and Best Engineered Album, Classical, and received a Grammy nomination for the 2023 annual awards ceremony.

Dr. Banerjee is one half of the musical duo Ban Brothers. His older brother, Gautam, is the other half of the duo.
