School of Business professors attend annual economic conference
Kentucky State University Professor of Economics Dr. Abdul Turay and Dr. Charles Nichols, visiting assistant professor in the School of Business, attended the 45th annual Kentucky Economics Association state meeting at Northern Kentucky University in October of this year.
Dr. Nichols and Adjunct Faculty Dr. Tamara Bowles submitted a paper for presentation on educational and governmental programs designed to reduce the impact of poverty in the lives of school children entitled, “An Investigation of the Effect of Poverty on Elementary School Children and its Relation to Their Future Economic Success.”
Dr. Nichols was also selected as a board member for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Dr. Turay has previously served as a board member and organization president and was instrumental in state meeting being hosted at Kentucky State in 2015.
The Kentucky Economic Association facilitates greater communication among state researchers from academia, government, and business, and promotes the sharing and discussion of research by economists and public policy analysts working on issues relevant to the Commonwealth.
