Campus Life Coordinator Ja’Meeca Alexander recently received some exciting news. The recent Kentucky State University graduate was accepted into the Dinsmore Pre-Law Minority Program.

Alexander, who also serves as the staff senate president at the university, shared her excitement about the opportunity to jumpstart her future career.

“I am eager to connect with individuals that are already judges, litigators and attorneys through this program and plan to represent Kentucky State in the highest manner,” she shared.

Alexander first became interested in the legal field after accepting a position in the General Counsel at the university.

“I researched different opportunities under the legal umbrella and my heart was eventually set on becoming a litigator – more specifically a civil rights litigator. I love helping others, especially those who have been wronged in the legal system; I knew that this was my calling.”

Alexander will participate in monthly interactive programming hosted by Dinsmore between September 2022 and April 2023. She, along with other participants, will receive tips for taking the LSAT and applying to law school. Sessions will also focus on the possible legal careers available and allow participants to hear from and meet diverse attorneys who practice in various areas as well as local judges.

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is a national and regional multi-service law firm with offices in 29 cities, stretching from Boston to San Diego.
