The 2022 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. scholarship recipient was recently announced. 

The scholarship, which is the result of a partnership with Kentucky State University and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Planning Committee, is open to Kentucky high school seniors who plan to attend Kentucky State. 

Amya Robey, a senior at Bowling Green High School, is the 2022 recipient. 

Stacy Webster-Little, chair of the scholarship committee and a Kentucky State alumna, made the announcement recently virtually. Webster-Little also interviewed the 2021 recipient, Jiya Alcorn. 

“My first semester at Kentucky State was very encouraging and very exciting. I was able to meet new friends and to be around people that looked like me and have the same goals as me,” Alcorn said. “The advice I would give the next MLK scholarship recipient is to stick with the process and really try to find the balance between academics and fun.”
