Kentucky State University receives scholarship funding from the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Foundation


Kentucky State University recently received scholarship funding at The Memorial Foundation Leaders of Democracy Awards Luncheon. 

Kentucky State University received $2,500 to be used unrestricted and for the use and benefit of its students, according to a letter from The Memorial Foundation President/CEO Harry E. Johnson Sr. 

In the letter, Johnson said the support Kentucky State has been a blessing to the foundation and that he considers Kentucky State University President M. Christopher Brown II a wonderful example of a college president who cares for the wellbeing and future of its students. 

According to its mission, The Memorial Foundation “exists to promote awareness of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial located in Washington, DC and its tenets of democracy, justice, hope, and love as well as to support the general upkeep of the Memorial in future years.”
