Kentucky State University alumna raised over $15,000 during 24-hour birthday fundraiser
A Kentucky State University alumna used her birthday as a call-to-action for her fellow alumni to raise money for her alma mater.
Tish Norman, class of 1995, hosted a 24-hour fundraiser on Facebook to benefit different Kentucky State University funds on her birthday. Norman hosted three Facebook Live sessions during the day promoting Kentucky State University National Alumni Association members, the Permanent Alumni Scholarship and its impact on students and KSU Forward, a fund that supports every student on campus through financial aid, campus infrastructure and special initiatives. The sessions had themes entitled “The Cafe,” “The Yard” and “Party in Bell Gym.”
Norman encouraged alumni to give a minimum of $18.86 (Kentucky State was founded in 1886) throughout the day.
In total, Norman reported 553 people contributed $15,518.86 as a result of her fundraiser.
