Kentucky State University continues Thorobred Promise, offers incentives to summer and fall students

Kentucky State University is offering an abundance of incentives for students this summer and fall.

Once again, Kentucky State is offering a tuition guarantee to its incoming freshman class, locking in tuition for four years. The tuition guarantee is designed to boost graduation rates and cut down on the number of loans students acquire. With the guaranteed flat-tuition rate for four years, new first-year undergraduate students are encouraged to finish college in four years.

The next generation of Thorobreds will also not have to include laptop computers on their list of items required for college success. For the second year in a row, Kentucky State University will issue every first-time, full-time freshman a new laptop computer.

Kentucky State is also waiving the SAT and ACT scores, dismissing the application fee and offering a course rate of $333 for Maymester and summer courses. Waiving test scores is a result of the cancellation of testing services by the College Board as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kentucky State also offers a variety of incentive scholarships. For instance, the Kentucky State University Bred 2 Bred scholarship provides $1000 for students in good standing who successfully recruit and enroll a new student to Kentucky State.

The Thorobred Achievers scholarship, which rewards a student’s persistence, offers up to $1,000 for entering first-time freshman, up to $2,000 per academic year for sophomores, up to $3,000 per academic year for juniors and up to $4,000 per academic year for seniors.

For out-of-state students in the seven contiguous states to Kentucky and Michigan, Kentucky State has reduced tuition from $9,500 per semester to $5,775 per semester.

There is no application fee. Complete your application online today. Kentucky State offers certificates, associate, bachelor’s, master’s and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. And if the many incentives are not enough, you’ll experience a diverse and inclusive campus environment with strong, caring faculty and staff committed to your success, not to mention academic support services and a lively campus life.
