Kentucky State University professor selected to serve on steering committee

A Kentucky State University professor was recently selected to serve on the Perkins V steering committee at the Kentucky Department of Education.

Dr. Patricia Higgins, associate professor in the School of Education and Human Development, was recently invited to serve on the committee.

Perkins V, also known as the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, is a federal education program that invests in secondary and postsecondary career technical education (CTE) programs across the United States, according to information from Advance CTE.

The steering committee will help rewrite Kentucky’s plan for Perkins V.
