Kentucky State University will host alumni, friends and the Frankfort and surrounding communities for Frankfort Day during its first home football game Saturday, Sept. 8 against McKendree University at 4 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.

Parking and admission to the game are free for Frankfort community members and surrounding service areas with a valid photo ID. Admission for children is free.

Bring the kids out to enjoy inflatables and snow cones. Adult games will take place prior to kick-off and there will be plenty of giveaways.

Frankfort Day is a chance for the community to come out and see what’s in store for the head football coach John L. Smith and the Thorobreds this season. Fun activities, good food, fellowship and giveaways are planned for the afternoon game.

Co-sponsored by the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce, the Frankfort Kiwanis and Sav-a-lot, a tailgating atmosphere will include grilled food and information fair promoting local business offerings.

Attendees will also get a glimpse of the 1886 Stable Club, a fundraising initiative designed to provide aid for Kentucky State student-athletes.
