Kentucky State University professor emeritus to present at National Association of Schools of Music workshop

Dr. Roosevelt O. Shelton, professor emeritus at Kentucky State University, will present a session entitled “Goals, Planning, and Time Management” at the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) pre-meeting workshop for new music administrators in higher education on Friday, November 16, and Saturday, November 17, at the Omni Shoreham hotel in Washington, D.C.

The session is intended for individuals who are new or in the early years of their administrative careers. Typically, the workshop draws between 50 and 60 participants.

This session will focus on the value of and suggested procedures for establishing realistic goals and objectives, which serve as the basis for effective long-range planning, and enable realistic considerations, which govern the productive use of time.

Shelton has additionally been selected by NASM to attend the special briefing for NASM Experienced Evaluators on Sunday, November 18, 2018. This briefing will focus on current issues regarding NASM accreditation efforts, including a detailed look at standards and their application.
