Kentucky State University hosted staff appreciation event

As the first academic year of Kentucky State University President M. Christopher Brown II’s tenure came to a close, the president and his leadership team hosted an event to show appreciation to University staff.

President Brown hosted all Kentucky State staff at Hillcrest Manor for food, giveaways, games, music and more during Staff Appreciation.

“Kentucky State has an amazing group of facilities and support staff,” President Brown said in a tweet. “They pitched tents, cleaned floors, answered phones, shoveled snow, assisted students and processed business affairs all year long. The leadership team and I were honored to serve them.”

Staff enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, and ribs with all the fixings. A shaved ice truck was on location for staff members to enjoy as well. Employees participated in some spirited games of Spades, volleyball, cornhole, dominoes, football and more.

Employees didn’t walk away without new Kentucky State University swag, either. Everyone received a t-shirt, Kentucky State sunglasses, popcorn and a commemorative towel. Staff members were still feeling appreciated the next day, as well. Employees who wore their new staff appreciation shirt to Chick-Fil-A received a free combo.

With the beginning of a new fiscal and academic year on the horizon, it was an appropriate way to celebrate the hard work of Kentucky State staff and the new leadership on the Hill.
