President M. Christopher Brown II approved the leave of absence, which was effective immediately.

“I thank Provost Thomas for her leadership and all she has done to advance the efforts of our faculty, staff, students and Kentucky State University,” Brown said concerning the leadership change and the importance of continuing the momentum in Academic Affairs.

President Brown will assume the responsibilities of the provost in the interim. The provost is the chief academic officer and is responsible for instructional and research programs, as well as student success.

President Brown will update the University community of next steps the week of June 11.
