Posted on May 3, 2018

Kentucky State University officials announced today that its 129th Commencement Convocation will be moved indoors due to the inclement weather forecasted by the National Weather Service.

Due to the impending threat of severe weather in the 10-day forecast, including thunderstorms and lightning, the evening of Friday, May 11, and the morning of Saturday, May 12, commencement will occur at 9 a.m. in the gymnasium of the William Exum Center.

The safety and security of graduates, their guests, alumni, community members and Kentucky State University employees is of the University’s utmost concern.

Commencement attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as seating is limited. The Carl H. Smith Auditorium and the Little Theatre in David H. Bradford Hall will serve as overflow locations. The event will also be streamed online at www.kysu.edu. For updates, visit www.kysu.edu/commencement.
