Kentucky State University honored its student scholars during the Academic Honors Convocation recently in the Carl H. Smith Auditorium of David H. Bradford Hall.

Kentucky State alumna Patricia Russell-McCloud, Esq. was the keynote speaker.

“Being a man or woman is a matter of birth,” Russell-McCloud told the students. “Being a man or woman who makes a difference is a matter of choice.”

Russell-McCloud encouraged students to believe in positive thinking, plan and put forth the effort for success.

“Education is not boring,” Russell-McCloud said. “Being unemployed is boring. Being broke is boring. Being dependent is boring. Learn from the masters of your field. Education gives you choices.”
