Kentucky State University President M. Christopher Brown II, Ph.D., was recently a featured guest speaker at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden 2017 College Symposium in Landover, Maryland.

The symposium was designed to encourage participants to consider how prepared they are for college and to consider new strategies for applying for and attending college.

“We believe that our diverse and dynamic group of speakers and panelists provide in-depth insight, as well as actionable and practical tools of engagement models, methods and mechanisms,” Rachel Bonapart, Ph.D., education ministry director for the First Baptist Church of Glenarden, said.

The symposium drew higher education leaders from across the country, including President Brown. Topics addressed included college planning, financial aid, what to expect, thriving in college and concluded with a college fair.
