Kentucky State University recently hired a new associate vice president for finance/controller with extensive experience in higher education accounting at historically black colleges and universities (HBCU).

Duane E. Wright recently joined the Kentucky State administration, with previous experience at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia; Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta.

“I came to Kentucky State for the opportunity to apply my years of experience in higher education in a new environment and hopefully be able to make a positive difference,” Wright said.

Wright earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Morehouse College. He has served as a board member of the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA), as well as a member of its finance committee. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and has served in various capacities.

“I’m very excited to be here and look forward to meeting and working with individuals across the campus,” Wright said.
