Kentucky State University is scheduled to host its inaugural High School Day Oct. 7 at the Frankfort campus.

“I’m extremely excited about this year’s event and I’m eager to engage all of the prospective students,” Kentucky State Admissions Director Justin J. Mathis said. “High School Day is a day for prospective students to explore all of the academic offerings that Kentucky state has to offer. There will also be food, fun and football.”

Admission is free and check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. at the William Exum Center gymnasium. At 9 a.m., prospective students and families will hear from Miss Kentucky State, the KSU Student Government Association president and the KSU Gospel Ensemble, followed by a welcome from President M. Christopher Brown II.

An academic and student organization fair will be held in the gymnasium and students can experience campus life on a campus tour.

Guests will enjoy a chance to pie the KSU royal court, listen to a showcase of some of the best bands in the country including the Mighty Marching Thorobreds and learn more about Greek organizations during a stroll off.

Free admission to cheer on the Thorobreds during the KSU football game against West Virginia State is included, with kick-off slated for 1:30 p.m. in Alumni Stadium.
