More than 400 faculty and staff members attended Kentucky State University’s Fall Faculty and Staff Institute, “Potholes, Policies, Procedures & Pathways for Progress,” on Monday, August 15, 2016, in Bradford Hall.  Interim President Aaron Thompson, Ph.D., formally introduced himself to both new and returning employees.

“I’m a first-generation high school student,” the native Kentuckian revealed as he reflected upon his upbringing in rural eastern Kentucky. Despite a lack of formal education, Dr. Thompson’s parents stressed the importance of education. His drive and motivation to surround himself with positive influences led Thompson to earn a Ph.D. in Sociology, focusing on organizational behavior as well as race and gender relations.
