KSU hopes to win 'Home Depot Retool Your School Campus Improvement' contest

Posted on March 14, 2016

Kentucky State University has been tweeting, facebooking and posting to Instagram to nail down a first-place finish in Home Depot’s 2016 Retool Your School Campus Improvement Grant Program.

Now in its seventh year, the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer utilizes the contest to offer Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) such as Frankfort’s university KSU the opportunity to apply for grants that provide sustainable renovations to their campuses.

The schools are categorized in one of three clusters based on student population. Each cluster will have three winners vying for one $50,000, one $30,000 and one $20,000 grant.

Even with several university hands on smart phones and laptop computers, we still need the Frankfort community’s help. Kentucky State is currently in fourth place, but with the community’s help, the university could win up to $50,000.

Voting is easy; tweet the KSU’s hashtag #KyState_RYS16 on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram. Voting is taking place now through April 24, 2016.

You also can submit one vote per day during the voting period at retoolyourschool.com.
