KSU students receive honors at Kentucky Academy of Science

Nine Kentucky State University (KSU) students received honors at the 2016 Kentucky Academy of Science Student Research Competition. Each year at the organization’s annual meeting, KAS presents awards to students in each of its 19 sections in the categories of undergraduate oral presentation, undergraduate poster presentation, and graduate oral presentation.

At the meeting held November 4-5 at the University of Louisville, KSU students were presented with honors in Agricultural Sciences, Computer and Information Sciences, Geography, and Microbiology.

The winners:

  • Nathan Kring, 3rd place, Agricultural Sciences, undergraduate poster presentation
  • George J. Pate, 2nd place, Agricultural Sciences, undergraduate oral presentation
  • Jarod Jones, 1st place, Agricultural Sciences, undergraduate oral presentation
  • Chelsea Walling, 3rd place, Agricultural Sciences, graduate oral presentation
  • Rick Hulefeld, 2nd place, Agricultural Sciences, graduate oral presentation
  • Brittany M. Woodward, 1st place, Agricultural Sciences, graduate oral presentation
  • Jongouk Choi, 1st place, Computer and Information Sciences, graduate oral presentation
  • Bijesh Mishra, 2nd place, Geography, graduate oral presentation
  • Rhiannon Cecil, 1st place, Microbiology, undergraduate oral presentation
