Posted on September 29, 2015

LEXINGTON, KY – Operation Turnout’s Gubernatorial Forum will take place at 1 p.m. in Bradford Hall on Saturday, Oct. 3.

According to the Conway-Overly campaign, one or both members of the Democratic gubernatorial ticket, consisting of Jack Conway and Sannie Overly, will participate in the forum. Both members of the Republican ticket, Matt Bevin and Jenean Hampton, have confirmed their participation. Independent candidate for governor, Drew Curtis, is confirmed as well.

Moderators Patrice Muhammad and Lezell Lowe, of The Key NewsJournal and Key Conversations, and Delano Massey of WKYT and Key Conversations, will be asking questions of these candidates that are designed to better clarify where the candidates stand on the issues that impact the underrepresented and economically disadvantaged the most. The forum will be immediately followed by a panel discussion moderated by Renee Shaw of Kentucky Education Television.

Organized on August 21, 2010, Operation Turnout is a non-partisan social justice organization that increases community participation in the citizenship process by helping people of color, the economically disadvantaged and advocates for social justice become more informed and engaged. This is accomplished through voter registration, voter education and citizenship initiatives.
