Lexington Legends to sponsor 10 students for Winter Meetings

Posted on September 17, 2015

Lexington Legends President and CEO Andy Shea stopped by Kentucky State University’s home base to encourage students to consider careers in minor league baseball on Thursday. Both student athletes and non-athletes alike attended the meeting.

Shea, who has held a variety of jobs in the minor league baseball organization—including as mascot—offered students ideas for different career paths within the baseball field.

The meeting attracted students majoring in areas ranging from sports medicine to business.

Shea announced that the Legends would sponsor 10 KSU students to attend the Winter Meetings from Dec. 7-9 in Nashville, Tenn. Students will be able to interview for internships and jobs with minor league teams from across the country. Students must submit an application, essay and resume to apply.
