Kentucky State University will offer 10 scholarships to high school students from the Indianapolis Public School System during its Presidential Recruitment and Scholarship Program at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Westin Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Ind.

President Raymond M. Burse will announce the winners of the scholarships at the event. The awards will be presented at 12:30 p.m.

KSU will be visiting Indianapolis during the Circle City Classic weekend as the school’s football team will play Central State University on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Lucas Oil Stadium.

KSU’s Office of Admissions and the scholarship committee will help to evaluate applications and essays from high school students who attend the program. The goal is to be the first university to recognize students for their academic performance and present them with scholarship offers during the program, says Special Projects Coordinator Andrea Houston.

“This program combines the rich heritage of the football classic and educational excellence at KSU,” says Houston.  “In addition, it is the one of the many initiatives in President Burse’s recruitment series.”
