FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State football program will be holding its Preseason Green-Gold Scrimmage as well as its 2015 Football Media Day on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Alumni Stadium. The media day will begin at noon in the Alumni Stadium fieldhouse, while the game will kick off at 6 p.m.

During the team’s media day availability, Thorobreds coaches and student-athletes will be available for photos and interviews. For special requests, please contact sports information director Matt Montavon at (502) 597-6399 or by email at matt.montavon@kysu.edu.

At 6 p.m. the team will take the field for its final tune up before the 2015 season. Led by preseason All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selections in wide receiver Corey Slaughter, linebacker Lydell Simon, safety Jermaine Graham, and linebacker Trevon Spencer, the Thorobreds will look to improve upon a 3-7 overall record with a 2-5 mark in SIAC play in the 2014 season.

Kentucky State opens the 2015 season when it travels to take on Division I Hampton University on Sept. 5. The Thorobreds return for the first of four home games when they face Johnson C. Smith at 2 p.m. on Sept. 12 at Alumni Stadium.
Several pregame events are planned for the home opener, including the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual community tailgate event. Chamber members are welcome to set up for free and showcase their products and services to attendees. Additionally, ESPN Radio will be hosting a live remote from the tailgate and giving away tickets to the Kentucky vs. Tennessee game.

The Sept. 12 game will also be Kentucky State’s Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day. All Kentucky State faculty and staff with a university ID will receive a free ticket to the game.
