The Lexington Ballet Company performed to enthusiastic crowd Friday evening at Bradford Hall at Kentucky State University.

As part of its arts and cultural season series, the Frankfort Arts Foundation and Kentucky State University presented “Rhapsody in Blue” and “The Koln Concert” performed by the Lexington Ballet Company. The movements by the dancers in this ballet evoke “sadness, growth, love and feeling of acceptance within the society.” The ballet vividly portrayed the human condition that although people play different parts in life, people are similar to each other.frankfort art foundation 016 send

“I love mixed–bill performances because you are able to touch on many different emotions and themes in the course of one evening,” said Lexington Ballet’s artistic director Luis Dominquez. “Ballet is a beautiful monster. It requires the right costume designers, set designers, choreographer, choreography and dancers. But it is worth it because it lets us strive for conspiracy and beauty.”

KSU academic technology trainer Jennifer Miles, who is also board member of the Frankfort Arts Foundation, enjoyed “seeing such artistry and passion through such a beautiful method.”

“Ballet is not easy and Lexington ballet does a wonderful job with it,” she added.
