Career fair draws 40 employers, eager KSU students
Kentucky State University hosted a career fair Thursday in the ballroom of the Carl M. Hill Student Center. More than 40 employers including Coca-Cola, U.S. Border Patrol and AAA insurance company conducted interviews with students about entry-level and seasonal positions and internships.

About 13 colleges and universities also provided information about a variety of graduate programs. To aid students, the office of Career Counseling and Placement hosted a preparation week to help them get ready for the fair.
There are usually two career fairs each semester, and so far this one was the biggest success due to the abundance of employers, said Ron Banks, director of Counsel and Placement. The office sends about 3,000 to 4,000 emails to various companies, inviting them to participate, he said.
Also, KSU alumni bring companies they work for back to their alma mater to participate in the fair. Companies such as Sam’s Club and the Federal Highway Administration target their job openings especially for KSU students.
The career fair is just one of numerous ways office of Career Counseling and Placement assist students.
