Bio:

Dr. Omar: Scholar of Public Policy, International Relations and African Politics

Dr. Eslam M. Omar is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at Kentucky State University, where he coordinates the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. His teaching and research interests cover public administration, public policy, international development, international relations, and African politics.

Dr. Omar holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Clark Atlanta University, specializing in Public Administration, Urban Politics, International Relations, and African Politics. He also holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Kentucky State University. He has over ten years of experience as a policy analyst for the state government of Kentucky.

At Kentucky State University, Dr. Omar teaches graduate courses in public administration, human resources management, nonprofit management, and international development. His scholarly work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Florida Political Chronicle, Open Journal of Political Science, and the Journal of Politics and Law, with recent publications focusing on regional security in Southeast Asia, U.S.-China relations, diplomacy in East Asia, and international development in North Africa.

Dr. Omar is an active participant in major academic national conferences, having presented at several such as the National Conference of Black Political Scientists, the Midwest Political Science Association, the Kentucky Political Science Association, and the Southwestern Social Science Association. He is also committed to advising and mentoring students in research and professional development.
