Bio:

Dr. Amadife: Scholar of International Relations and African Politics

Dr. Emmanuel N. Amadife is a Professor and the Political Science Coordinator in the School of Criminal Justice & Government Relations. His extensive career is marked by significant academic and leadership contributions to political science and African studies.

Dr. Amadife began his academic journey with a Diploma from the Institute of Public Administration in Dublin, Ireland. He then earned a B.A. from the School of International Training, an M.A. from the University of Rhode Island, and a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Amadife served as the Chair of the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Kentucky State University. He previously taught at the University of Rhode Island, where he was also the Interim Director of the African and Afro-American Studies Program, and at Shaw University in North Carolina.

Dr. Amadife's research and teaching interests are focused on International Organizations, Comparative Government, Development, Democratization, and African Politics. He is the author of the book Pre-Theories of Foreign Policy Making and has published peer-reviewed articles on topics such as the political boundaries of Africa and democratization in Nigeria.

A respected scholar and leader, Dr. Amadife founded the Annual Southern Interdisciplinary Roundtable on African Studies (SIRAS) at Kentucky State University and was the founding managing editor of the academic journal Notes & Records: An International Journal of African and African Diaspora Studies. He frequently presents his research at professional conferences.
