How long have you been employed at Kentucky State?

I have been working for Kentucky State for over four years now.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy the research, teaching fish nutrition and the contact with students and all Kentucky State folks.

What has been one of your favorite moments at Kentucky State?

A really good friend of mine who was my roommate and lab mate in Texas during my Ph.D. defended his master’s thesis at Kentucky State in 2019 and I ended up being a member of his thesis committee. That was certainly a unique experience for both of us here.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?

My wife (Renata) tells me to mow the lawn every time she thinks the grass is too tall. I never hesitate and really enjoy doing it! Besides this, I enjoy watching movies with her and a good friend of mine has introduced me to golf recently. So far, he has beaten me most of the time!

What is one thing you couldn't live without?

My family and friends are most important in my life.

A fun fact about me is…

I lace my shoes the same way since I was a little kid. Not the most efficient and fast way but it is probably the only thing that has never changed!
