Kentucky State University partners with Handshake

We’re excited to announce that Kentucky State University has partnered with Handshake – a modern career development platform – to help our students connect with potential employers and our career center.

Through Handshake our students will be able to:

• Access personalized job recommendations based on their major and interests
• Apply for posted jobs and internships
• Register for career fairs
• Manage on-campus interviews
• Schedule appointments with career counselors

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, students will be invited to activate their Handshake account by going to kysu.joinhandshake.com or downloading the Handshake app (Android or Apple). A Kentucky State email address is required for system access. As part of the activation process, students will be requested to upload their resume, along with a nice headshot. Every student who activates their account by Sept. 30, will be entered into a drawing for $50.00 Amazon Gift Certificate.

Kentucky State faculty and staff can also join Handshake by requesting access. Our office recommends using your Kentucky State email address and registering for a new account as a student/alumni. This will help you experience the value of Handshake and better assist your students. We are also working with our alumni affairs office to provide access to the Kentucky State alumni. Alumni can sign up by going to kysu.joinhandshake.com and registering for a new account as an alumni with their email address. All new account registration requests will be sent to our office for approval.
