Enrolling and Access

Enrolling in Courses

Students enrolled in online programs work closely with their advising contact and the specific department to ensure course registrations are processed accurately.  The advising process guides students through course registration.  In many cases, the online program pathways will automatically register students in individual courses.  Some specializations offer options students can choose to complete the pathway opportunity.

On campus students who are currently enrolled in traditional classes and/or distance education programs may review the list of available online courses by visiting the KSU WIRED system.  Students should consult with their assigned online advising coordinator as to what would apply to their particular degree pathway.

It is also possible for undergraduate students not currently admitted to the University (such as students seeking a degree at another university) to take individual courses under Visiting Student status.

Those students interested in transferring into one of our online degree programs, KSU offers bachelor-level and master-level degree pathway programs through distance education. Transfer credits from other accredited post-secondary institutions can be applied toward fulfillment of the degree requirements.

Accessing Courses

Most of the distance learning programs offered by KSU utilize a virtual classroom known as Blackboard™. Blackboard is an academic learning management system where students communicate with instructors and peers, submit assignments and participate in various Web 2.0 technologies.  While traditional campus courses utilize Blackboard as a course supplement, those courses taught online are done 100% through Blackboard.
