Advising and Getting Started

Once admitted to the university and Distance Learning degree program determined, students are provided a Campus-wide ID#, an online area coordinator that will serve as their adviser and a Blackboard log-in. Once students have received a Campus-wide ID#, they will be able to access the Student Information System (WIRED). The WIRED system provides students with the ability to:

  • Access financial aid;
  • Register for courses;
  • Pay tuition;
  • View grades;
  • Request transcripts;
  • View degree audit.

Each online program at KSU has a specific process for advising, tracking and supporting student progress. It is important to communicate regularly with the specific department offering the online program with regard to the program structure and on-going expectations.
