The MPA program requires completion of 42 semester credit hours, consisting of 24 hours of core courses, nine hours in a concentration, and nine hours of elective coursework. In addition, all students must complete a two-part comprehensive examination, addressing both core and specialty coursework.
The MPA program offers small classes on week nights on the campus of Kentucky State University, so that students can hold full-time employment or an internship during the day. Through the Office of Continuing and Distance Education’s Credit for Life Experience Program, students may be able to earn up to 12 semester hours for relevant full-time professional service.
The MPA program has strong connections with government agencies and non-profit organizations. We offer opportunities for public leaders to engage with our students as guest speakers and advisory board members, and through internship opportunities.
