About the MPA Degree Program
The Master of Public Administration program is a two-year graduate degree program offered on the campus of Kentucky State University. We prepare individuals for management and leadership careers in public service. The program advances knowledge, research and practice of public administration through a solid foundation of core coursework in public administration and society, information science, fiscal resources management, and quantitative analysis. Students also develop specialized expertise in at least one concentration area: Human Resource Management (HRM), Non-profit Management (NP), International Development (ID), and Management Information Systems (MIS). The MPA program places a strong emphasis on research and practice of public policy that provides relevant experience for our students to develop the skill set needed to be successful in the real-world. Our graduates go on to have fulfilling careers working for a wide range of governmental, nonprofit, and even private sector organizations.
