The crowd in KSU’s Carl M. Hill Student Center Ballroom erupted with cheers and applause when the television coverage showed the president-elect walking down the hall on his way to the presidential inauguration ceremony Jan. 20.
The inagural “Leave A Legacy” Golf Invitational got underway with Benedict College, Kentucky State University and Paine College teeing off Historic Clearview Golf Course in East Canton, OH.
The Leave A Legacy Golf Invitational is a partnership between the SIAC and Clearview Legacy Golf Foundation and is designed to give recognition and build awareness of the game of golf to the minority community. This years event is sponsored by Clearview Legacy Foundation, JP Watts Company and John Deere.
Kentucky State University’s Marching Band is well known for its flashy performances that wow crowds and excite audiences. But its members not only have the moves, they also have the classical training that qualified 11 students to perform in the 2010 Kentucky Intercollegiate Band.

Kentucky State University hosted the 23rd annual Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament Nov. 11 to Nov. 13 in the Exum Center. Women from 12 conference teams competed on campus for the championship title, which the Lady Rams of Albany State University won after beating Kentucky State University 3-0.
The Kentucky State University Thorobreds battled valiantly against their arch-rivals, the Tuskegee University Tigers, at the Gateway Football Classic Sept. 26 in St. Louis, Mo. Though the game was close, the Thorobreds lost in overtime, 35-28. However, alumni and fans still had fun at the many events surrounding the game.
Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 16 to Oct. 18, was a success. Alumni and friends returned to "Turn Back the Hands of Time" and to catch up with old friends.
Kentucky State University's Student Health Services, in cooperation with the Franklin County Health Department, offered students, faculty and staff free seasonal flu shots Sept. 23 on campus.
Students from KSU's School of Nursing program administered the shots.
An army of green and gold Thorobreds speckled Kentucky State University's campus Aug. 18, carrying televisions, boxes, refrigerators, rugs and lamps from students' cars to their residence hall rooms.
It was part of the new Grid Iron Moving Co., an initiative of interim head football coach Wayne Dickens to have his players give back to their community. The uniformed players, football coaches, Athletics Department administration and staff and other head and assistant coaches were a presence in all of the freshman residence halls, where the traffic was the heaviest on Move In Day, and they helped to make this one of the smoothest Move In Days at Kentucky State University.
The university's food service provided refreshments for the students in each of the residence halls to allow them to stay in one spot and relax.

More than 300 students graduated May 9 during Kentucky State University's 120th commencement ceremony.
The Kentucky State University Marching Thorobreds competed in the Honda Battle of the Bands on January 24th in Atlanta, Ga.
