Deneen Petty, coordinator of the Youth Center for Excellence summer camp, gives the students instructions for their presentations.
Students from different age groups share what they learned that day.

One group discusses culture in Frankfort and how each culture is unique.
Other groups learn that their bodies are machines. In order to keep them working correctly, they have to take care of them.

Some of the students attend the Kings Center afterschool program throughout the year, which is one of Kentucky State University's grant partners.
The summer camp runs three weeks. During the school year, the students will attend afterschool programming at KSU.

In addition to learning about nutrition and culture, the students engage in recreational activities.
