Major Ensemble

The Symphonic Band is comprised of a top selected group of music majors and non-majors. The Symphonic Band performs instrumental literature composed for large and small woodwind, brasswind, and percussion ensembles and performs several concerts throughout each fiscal school year.  The Symphonic Band provides its members with a wide range of repertoire which includes original works for wind band as well as transcriptions of works.    The Symphonic Band is the heart of the band program and continues a tradition of high level performances given free of charge to appreciative audiences.  The group rehearses during the fall on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:00 P.M. to 4:45 P.M. during the Spring.  All members are selected by audition.
