KSU Softball Team Wins SIAC Championship

Kentucky State defeated Benedict College 6-4 to win the 2006 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Championship. The championships were held on the Stillman College campus located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  Michelle Guerrero lead the Brettes offense with 3-RBI's on three hits, Melissa Seward, Jennifer Lohuis, LaKeshia Wilson and Heather Short each collect two hits.  Lohuis also recorded 3-RBI's. Guerrero, Seward and Stokes were named to the All-Tournament team.  Stokes also received the MVP Award and Head Coach Oscar Downs received the SIAC Tournament Coach Award. The win gives the Brettes a 29-8 overall record an automatic berth in the NCAA South Region Softball Tournament.
