To assist grant writers with the preparation and submission of competitive proposals, the Office for Sponsored Programs provides the following:
Proposal Training
An 85-minute video tape, All About Grants, is available to interested proposal writers. This video explains how to prepare a competitive proposal and generally provides most of the information needed by persons who have limited experience with proposal preparation. The video may be borrowed for two-day periods.
At least two Writing Winning Proposals workshops are conducted each year. The workshop is open to all persons interested in preparing a competitive proposal for submission to an outside funding source.
The Office is also available to conduct mini-workshops on proposal preparation upon request. These mini-workshops are usually held for faculty members in an academic department or area.
The University’s School of Public Affairs offers during most semesters, PUA 606, Grantsmanship and Proposal Writing, a three credit-hour course. Those interested in pursuing this graduate-level course should contact the School of Public Affairs for additional information.
