KYVU Online Courses

Kentucky State University enrolls students in courses that are offered by faculty using the Kentucky Virtual University (KYVU) network. These virtual classes are delivered via the Blackboard Online Course Management system and are available for study and review wherever registered students have access to the Internet. Students can work at these classes on computers at home, at work, or in a public library.

Students can access the course material on a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week basis. In conjunction with traditional textbook materials, on-line courses provide students with opportunities to read additional material provided by the teacher, to link to other Internet resources like the Kentucky Virtual Library (KYVL), for research, to complete assignments, to take tests, to e-mail questions to teachers, and to discuss topics with other on-line classmates. This online option meets the needs of students who cannot attend regularly scheduled and place-defined classes. They are ideal for people who need maximum time and location flexibility.
